I AM Festival is CT’s biggest Indie music festival. Going strong since it’s start in 2005, I AM Fest. brings together thousands of people to enjoy a day in downtown New London to listen to some of indie music’s most exciting performers and to shop at our Indie Marketplace! This year’s event will be held in the heart of the downtown on the Parade Plaza and at the Hygienic Art Park.
Vendors of all kinds gather to sell their handmade products and showcase their talents of craft for the all day event. Everything from t-shirts, handmade cards, photography, jewelery, furniture, art, soaps, and so much more are wanted for this day. See the list below to see some of I AM Festival’s previous vendors!
Here’s a little information to help you with the preparation, application, and the day of the festival!
When is I AM Festival?
I AM Festival takes place on Saturday September 8th, 2012. The all day event runs from Noon to 11pm.
Where is I AM Festival?
I AM Festival is located in downtown New London on the Parade Plaza and at the Hygienic Art Park. Vendors will be located near the main stage on the Parade Plaza in the heart of the downtown.
How much does it cost? How do I pay?
All applicants who are selling craft items, handmade goods or other items must submit a vendor fee of $35 (payments should be submitted as checks written to ‘New London Music Festival’) along with the vendor application to the address below:
I AM Fest 2012 Vendors
c/o The Telegraph
19 Golden Street
New London, CT 06320
I want to be a vendor, but I’m not selling anything…
If you will not be selling any items, just supplying information or representing a non-profit organization, the fee is waved though we ask you to still complete the application for our records. You will also still need to read up on the information for the day of event listed below. We strongly encourage all non profits to apply and any organizations to contact us with their ideas of what they want to bring to the event.
Do I need to supply my own tent?
Yes. As a vendor you are responsible for your own supplies including a 10 x 10 tent ( anything larger please contact us), tables, chairs, lights for the evening hours, etc.
What am I responsible for bringing with me the day of the event?
All vendors are required to bring a 10×10 tent, tables to display your product, chairs, string lights for after dark, extension cords and signage. We strongly suggest bringing a cash box with change as the event is listed as Indie Market place and a buddy to watch your booth if you must leave for any reason.
Who can be a vendor?
Everyone! We welcome all types of craft/handmade goods to apply. Check out our list of previous vendors below to see the variety of goods the indie marketplace has offered up. Non-profit organizations and other community and volunteer groups can apply as well. Food vendors are welcome to apply, and we have another information sheet for those who fall under that category.
When do I need to get to the pier?
On September 8th, I AM Festival’s music kicks off at Noon. Vendors must be set up by 11:30 ready to open up as many people gather early. We suggest arriving no later than 10 am. We will have volunteers who can help set up your tent and lend you a hand with what you need to get going. Break down of the event is at 9 pm when the festival is ending.
Parking:
There is an affordable parking garage located just adjacent to the Parade Plaza. Otherwise parking is free throughout the downtown including in the municipal lot on Eugene O’Neill Drive.
